I WATCH SINKING OF JAPAN YESTERDAY

Sinking Of Japan is a remake of the 1973 classic, which was based on a novel by Sakyo Komatsu. Advances in CGI over the past 30 years has inspired filmmakers to drag out an old cash cow from its archives, and milk it for all it's worth yet again. The premise goes something like this. A geologist discovers that the central plate under Japan will break, forcing the country to break apart and gradually sink into the ocean in like, little less than a year.
The politicians scoff his findings initially, but then a few volcanoes start erupting, earthquakes shatters everyone's LCD monitors at home, and the people wise up and do what we do best. Scream for our lives.
Honestly, the special effects are quite impressive for a film outside of Hollywood's razzle dazzle blockbuster factory. But jaw dropping visuals is never enough to guarantee a good film. Poseidon, a similar Hollywood remake of an old hit, proved that better special effects do not always translate to a box office hit. Sinking Of Japan isn't really a disaster movie.
It's a love story interspersed with montages of collapsing buildings, fiery volcanic eruptions, cities submerged under water, and whatever you might have glimpsed from the trailer. In short, the trailer pretty much covered the best bits from the movie. In between the loving lingering glances exchanged by Tsuyoshi Kusanagi (of SMAP fame) and Kou Shibasaki (from Battle Royale), millions of Japanese die from one catastrophic disaster after another. I know this because the numbers keep flashing somewhere on a screen behind the interim Prime Minister of Japan. (The previous one got knocked out of the skies after flying over an erupting volcano. If this isn't Mother Nature's way of warning politicians about the effects of global warming, I don't know what is.)
In a nutshell, the special effects do little to cover up for the predictable drawn-out plot, and the tedious love story between the leads aren't helping. If you were hoping for a disaster movie, this one stinks!

A TRIP TO MY COUSIN'S HOUSE

Hi people! I had enjoyed myself very much today! In the morning, i accompanied my mother to the market to buy fruits then in the midst of choosing fruits, my cousin suddenly called my mother. My mother told me that my 3rd uncle is bringing his baby to my 2nd uncle's house[a bit confusing for you guys]. So we went and reached there at 2.15pm i brought my Spectrum, History textbook, Mathematics Assesment Book and Geography Assesment Book there. Sadly, i did none of them as i was busy playing with my 3 month old cousin. She is a cute and bright girl with big eyes filled with curiousity with things around her.Well,Zhi Ying, I will relink you de. Love you x100. K?
